This downtown Seattle Hotel building, originally opened in 1926 and last renovated in 2004, needed an update throughout the interior. Guest rooms, corridors, lobbies and a 1,500 square foot Monarch suite were renovated to a modern design aesthetic, evoking the hotel’s Scandinavian heritage.
SparkLab worked with the interior designer to support the creation of select, custom yet cost-effective decorative fixtures with a warm and consistent quality of light. Strategies needed to be coordinated with the infrastructure of a 100-year-old, existing building – shallow depth fixtures and multiple ceiling conflicts. Guests control warm dim fixtures and the multiple layers of light in their rooms via a user-friendly, yet flexible control system.
