Built to sit quietly in an open field, this island residence is a kind neighbor to the landscape.
Lighting is shielded through windows at night so that no neighbors (human, flora or fauna) are impacted by electric light. Internal treatments provide warmth and ambience for dwelling inhabitants, and subtly accents artwork throughout. A custom pendant created from an old turbine provides both a dramatic visual anchor and task lighting over the dining table. Light fixtures are otherwise integrated and discreet, keeping the focus on the architecture and the view.
Environmental considerations are of utmost importance, including energy efficiency and lighting controls, and especially light reduction strategies in respect of Dark-Skies.
